Dr. Victoria Blackhurst, founder of Blackhurst Periodontics & Dental Implants, is proud to establish her practice in her hometown of Wilmington, Delaware. Returning to serve the community she knows and loves, Dr. Blackhurst is committed to providing thoughtful, individualized care guided by a simple philosophy: recommending not the most treatment, but the most appropriate treatment for each patient's unique needs.

Specialty Training & Expertise
Periodontists undergo three additional years of specialized residency training following dental school, developing advanced expertise in the prevention and treatment of gum disease, soft tissue and bone regeneration, and dental implant surgery.
Dr. Blackhurst completed her specialty training in Periodontology & Implantology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Since then, she has gained extensive clinical experience in private practice, treating a wide range of complex periodontal and implant cases.
Committed to providing the highest standard of care, she continually advances her knowledge and surgical expertise through ongoing education and specialized training in soft tissue grafting, microsurgery, complex implant rehabilitation, and laser periodontal therapy.

Dr. Blackhurst understands that visiting a periodontist can feel intimidating, which is why she is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel comfortable and at ease. By taking the time to listen to each patient’s concerns and understand their individual needs and goals, she strives to make every experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Her goal is to ensure that every patient feels heard, informed, and confident throughout their care.
For patients who may feel anxious about periodontal procedures, Dr. Blackhurst and her team are specially trained to provide compassionate, attentive care that prioritizes patient comfort. To further ease anxiety and enhance the patient experience, our office offers several sedation options, including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation, allowing us to tailor each patient's experience to their individual comfort needs.
